HFI Board of Directors

 

Cory B. Richardson (President)

  • Cory is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Northfield Savings Bank. He is a certified public accountant and member of the Vermont Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors, Cory serves on the Vermont State Housing Authority’s Board of Commissioners, Committees at Central Vermont Economic Development Corporation, and Central Vermont Medical Center.

Alex Farrell (Vice-President)

  • Alex Farrell serves the State of Vermont as the Commissioner of Housing & Community Development; previously, he served for several years as Deputy Commissioner. In addition to serving as Vice President of the HFI Board of Directors, he is the Board Chair for the Vermont State Housing Authority. In the past, Alex has volunteered on several state and local Boards and Commissions, including the Vermont Real Estate Commission on which he served as chair for several years; Alex also served the city of Burlington on the Parks, Recreation, and Waterfront Commission, the Community Development Block Grant Advisory Board, and the Board for Registration of Voters. Alex is a Vermont native who was raised in Shelburne and attended the University of Vermont where he received a BSBA in his undergraduate studies; he and his wife are currently residents of South Burlington.

Mary Houghton (Treasurer)

  • resides in Putney and was elected to the HFI Board of Directors in April 2017. Before retiring in 2016, Houghton was the Finance Manager for the Brattleboro Housing Authority.

Kathleen Berk (Secretary)

  • Kathleen is the Executive  Director  of the Vermont State Housing Authority.  She joined VSHA in 1988 and has held various positions across the Authority, becoming Executive Director in 2021

Alison Bell

  • Alison resides in Stowe and was elected to the HFI Board in December 2002. Bell has been an attorney with Langrock, Sperry & Wool, LLP in Burlington since 1987.

David Muzzy

  • David resides at Mountain View Mobile Home Park in Hinesburg and was elected to the HFI Board in August 2009. Muzzy is retired from the Research and Development Group at IBM and from Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. Muzzy represents the interests of HFI’s mobile home park portfolio.

Jo Ann Troiano

  • Jo Ann is the Executive Director of the Montpelier Housing Authority, Chair of the Vermont Association for Public Housing Directors, a member of the Governor’s Housing Council and the Fair Housing Committee of that Council.
